In-Depth Online Felted Crab Tutorial

  • Video 1: Let's get started!
    We’ll cover all the basics in the first tutorial, including what materials you'll need, understanding how wool “felts,” how felting needles work, and the most effective way to use your tools.

  • Video 2: Legs, legs, legs
    Learn my special technique to create fully articulated legs and claws. The process is a little challenging but well worth the effort for this and future felting projects.

  • Video 3: Building the body
    Bring your crab to life by making the body and learn an easy way to connect the legs. This process will help you better understand the importance of using the right types of wool for your felting projects.

  • Video 4: Finishing touches
    Finish up your project and add character to your crab by adding eyes, a mouth, teeth, and more!

I am a full-time artist, teacher, and author. I am living my best life when I'm involved in creative things and helping others find their creative “spark.” After 20+ years of teaching, this “spark” is something I know ALL of us have. For my own felting, I use needle felting and wet felting techniques to create serious and not-so-serious works. I have taught, won awards, and been exhibited all over the U.S.
